You guy, are the greatest. Merry Christmas to you too.

24.12.11

Feeling.

Completely exhausted.

Bring on Santa. Merry Christmas everyone. Thank you for all the support this year. It's been a gooden.

23.12.11

Condensed milk.

I just put condensed milk in my tea. I wouldn't recommend it but for a tea emergency it's like milk and sugar at once.

Happy 23rd of December. Two more sleeps till face stuffing commences.

21.12.11

Kute kiwi.

Gave me the loveliest Christmas present! And she really didn't need too! Two giant map books and one of her super candy cane decorations. I'm wrapped! Har hars.

Check out her loveliness here.

Nearly there.

It's nearly Christmas and I'm nearly off on my adventure! To Ireland, England, Germany and Nepal I go!

Packing must begin.

But there are still many maps to make, and Christmas presents to wrap!

20.12.11

Casualty.

I tried to impress my boyfriend by skate boarding to the shop this morning for some milk. I fell off. You cannot see the graze on my hand in this picture but it was seepy and there was skin not attached as it should be!

15.12.11

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

We've finally got our Christmas tree at my flat, a wee one that costed a bomb but for the smell Christmas it's given our house it's worth it I say! Plus the lovely decorations I got in Mexico last year now have a place to stay for a wee while.

And in the spirit of Christmas I've decided to do a little giving. This wee blog now has 95 (formal blogger followers) and my wee facebook page 75 likers. Thanks guys! I never thought wee Make Believe could be so grand! So I've decided to put together a Post Christmas Hamper O' Goodies (hamper is such a lovely word) to be given away when either one hits 100 because 100 is a very nice number.

Oo I'm waffling on, as I do. Every liker and every follower will be put into the draw- so if you follow in another manor please like Make Believe on facebook to 'be in to win'.

I have not yet complied said hamper but I image it to have a bit of everything, a map! some map magnets! a charm necklace or two! cards! a trip fund jar (if I don't sell the lot this Sunday) etc etc. Perhaps it shall be called 'whatever I can find hamper'.

Unfortunately there is a bit of a catch with the size of the map and bottle to post overseas, so if the winner is further a field they will receive everything but those bad boys and then I shall redraw for a lucky runner up based in NZ. I hope that sounds alright!

Right that's it, I'm off! Enjoy your weeks folks!

Kraftbomb.

Come to the last Kraftbomb of the year. 11-2 this Sunday, Grey Lynn Community Centre.

That's huge!

I picked up the three giant beast maps today for tomorrow. I hope to photograph them to share with you but think its best they stay in their bubble till the morning. This is not black mail to make you come to the market, though it does sound like it a bit!

Come one, come all!

It's tomorrow!

I pledge.

and second hand! And I pledge - (lettering from Ornamelle)

7.12.11

The time is nigh.

For me to bike across the harbour. I'm not a single bit ready (for the whole 15km, I know I'm being dramatic) and I'll no doubt be exhausted from the market. Ah!

All go.

It's all go here at Camp Make Believe, in prep for this Saturdays market. Some things for show in tell!

Come along, come along. I'll be doing a large bit of Christmas shopping too! 11am - 3pm Aotea Centre.
And enjoy the Random Acts on in the square too! A lovely guy I know is one of The Bizness trio. Oh I do love Christmas!

My floor is once again covered in printed postcards trying to dry and the trip fund bottles are back plus there will be maps galore folks, galore! (great word no?)

Yikes.

Alright, alright but there's a market this Saturday!

5.12.11

Submarine.

Tonight I'm going to see Submarine. I could not be more excited.

Submarine - Trailer from Ante-Cinema on Vimeo.

And this morning I found a new huge op-shop I'd never visited before! It was so great. Delta Ave, New Lynn for local Aucklanders!

Voting.

Gosh seems like I'm always after a vote or two! I don't think I mentioned so here I go, that the ol' street style blog was been nominated for Concrete Playgrounds web awards.

If you'd like to vote for me/it have a look here! And please vote for all the other wonderful blogs on there too. Thank you!

Harriet Falvey.

My Harriet Falvey jumper purchase arrived from Onceit finally (only finally because I was desperate to receive it!). It's great! Perfect summer pullover I say! Welcome to my wardrobe, I think we will be the best of friends.

Rainy days.

So we've had some rainy days, that's enough for now thanks!

But I did find a lovely new task to complete on all rainy days from now on. Picking flowers from around my neighbourhood for friends, from very full bushes only of course.

Hey cupid.

Shoot me with this arrow would you?

I've been waiting for this bad boy to be avaliable for ages. Finally it's in Odette's store. Grand! And I believe (if you love it too) you can get a discount by putting in 'GIFTED' at the checkout. Yus.

Twitter genius.

Working.

Not sure if I've talked about this much but I work for a wonderful wee company called Pauanesia. The store and brand celebrates New Zealand with an ever-changing array of home textiles, ceramics, jewellery and craft and I think it's pretty bloomin' good. As a work place and a company.

Anyhoo- I've been working hard with the owner and Zeald to put together our brand spanking new website. It's just been launched and I reckon you might like it- or your mum will!

06.

One day a very lovely and talented lady called Helen came to my house to interview me for a documentary she was making about creative types in Auckland. And now it's done.

And you can watch it here. Excuse me scratching my arm- gross.

25.11.11

15km.

How far exactly is 15km? Quite far right? I remember at primary school they told us from our classroom to the McDonalds was 1km and I've kept that as my gauge ever since. So to the classroom and back, a good few times I guess. Not too bad- I think I can make it, plus it means I get to pedal my way across the Harbour bridge and that seems pretty grand.

If you have a bike you should sign up too! It's all for a good cause, the TelstraClear Challenge is in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation - Auckland and so far its raised $45, 231, my $65 entry fee included. It could be $45, 296 if you signed up. Why not right?

Photo from here.

24.11.11

Two posts.

Because that last one was being painful with all the images. Some lovely fan-tastic greeting cards.

Hope to see you at a market, or two!

A wee look.

At some of the things I've been working on. All to be at this weekends Kraftbomb and the markets beyond!

Bunting painted sweet bowls.
Bunting teacups.
Tube necklaces, in a variety of colours!
New feathered cups.

Scary secret santa gift tags.

Five things I'm thankful for.

A good egg once told me to be thankful for 5 things, every now and again.

Christmas. It's coming.

My dad always says 'Christmas is coming!' even on Boxing Day. And he's right! But now it's coming a lot faster than it feels in January. Only a few weeks! I've made a pledge to only buy handmade, or from small independent companies this year or of course make my own gifts (bar one thing which I had already bought, oop) My own little way of joining the Occupy movement (though I am still hoping to camp a night in Aotea Square because I don't know when I'd next get the chance to do that!).

Anyway- if you'd like to do the same here are some fabbo events coming up to get your shop on at.

Kraftbomb. The original and always awesome Auckland Craft Fair.
There's one this Sunday and then another for those last minute presents on the 18th of December.
11 - 2pm at the Grey Lynn Community Centre.

The Devonport Craft Market. Their special outdoor Christmas Market runs along side the Devonport Christmas Festival (think Santa Parade and music) and is always a delightful day.
Next Sunday the 4th of December from 10 - 3pm in the park by the ferry building!

And then the big kahuna of markets. The Auckland Art and Craft Fair in Aotea Centre, still charging its donation entry but always worth it. On Saturday 10th December from 11am to 3pm.

I'm working on lots of new things for them. Let's hope it all comes together. Sneak peek of one below!

Marina + Andy

21.11.11

Tea and sweets.

And lots and lots of painting, all for the upcoming markets. There will be a few sweet bowls and many teacups plus some new things in the pipe line.
