Palitos.

Last summer, if you remember this post, I started to sell popsicles here on the beach in Rio. It was a fun experiment and a success I think! So this summer I'm trying to rev it up and go a little more professional.

Here is the newly updated fb page & a newly installed instagram if you want to follow the Palitos adventure.

News flavours include 'avocado & lime' and 'strawberry banana yoghurt'. Tomorrow (weather permitting) will be the first day on the street and we are going to try hang on the side of an existing street market (food and vege one). Let's see how it goes.

Recycled in the rain.

Oh, how I'd love to wear this jacket. Recycled fabric raincoats, yes please! Made by Mushama & Me and now being stocked at a new place in Auckland I cannot wait to visit upon my return, Sew Love Tea Do.

Made from recycled cotton fabrics such as sheets, curtains, or duvets, and coated with PVC, creating a unique and waterproof fabric.

He's Peter Pan, all right, Captain. He's just been away from Neverland so long, his mind's been junk-tified. He's forgotten everything.

The world says goodbye to a goodie.

Kenko Kitchen

Kenko Kitchen has a special place in my heart. Every thing is so god dam picture perfect - in the best kind of way. I cannot wait to test this Ginger & Date Granola. Here in Brazil] they call it 'granola' like the Americans too, I much prefer muesli. I cannot wait to test this muesli.

Making Maracana.

Here is Brazil, Maracanã (the football stadium here in Rio de Janeiro) is often referred to as a 'temple'. I guess it's like Eden Park for rugby in New Zealand but Brazilian are NUTS about football. Come to think of it we are pretty nuts about rugby (some of us) but these guys take it to a new level.

Anyhoo- myself and the folks I work with (Terravixta - english link) have decided to re-build the legend! Short history goes like this- Maracanã was once the biggest stadiums in the world, over time it was downsized and downsized and downsized again and most recently remodeled (thanks World Cup). The people here got pretty upset about. Legend lost they said.

So, we are rebuilding it in a mini wooden form! And we are doing a crowd funding to help get the thing off the ground. Not knowing if anyone even remotely interested in football reads this blog I thought I'd post it here because hey-ho why not!

Our crowdfunding (in portuguese unfortunately). And some shots of the beauty below, there's a piece of wood that bends for goodness sake.

A birthday.

For one of the talented men who are part of Zebu Mídias - they make organic ink with cocoa and cinnamon and other such things. It's pretty dam awesome.
